Watch Nina on the Great British Menu.

Nina Matsunaga, our head chef and co-owner, is set to appear on the 2024 season of Great British Menu.

She features as one of four chefs representing the northwest of England in the regional heats, which starts on 27th February and will see the chefs competing for a place in finals week.

Black Bull Dinners

An Exciting Dining Experience in April & May

Matsunaga was raised by Japanese parents in Düsseldorf, and brings those influences to bear on the ingredients from the surrounding hills and meadows, but in a thrilling loose-limbed lets-be-having-you sort of way
— Jay Rayner, The Observer
Matsunaga is an exhilarating talent and the Black Bull an idyll of a place that marries everything a food nerd could wish for to a real sense of hospitality, all open fires & generosity.
— Marina O'Loughlin, The Times
