Winder & The Calf
Winder dominates the north side of Sedbergh. Behind it lies the huge mass of the quiet, hidden Howgill fells rising to the highest point at The Calf. Beautiful walk for anyone of reasonable fitness, and on a clear day there are lovely views to the Dales, the Lakes and out to Morecambe Bay.

Length: 5.5km (3.4 miles)
Ascent: 473 metres
Time: 1.5hrs - 2.5 hours
The Calf -
Length: 13km (8 miles)
Ascent: 676 metres
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Fairfield Mill from Sedbergh
A lovely walk along the river Rawthey to Farfield Mill Arts & Heritage Centre, with a choice of return routes. Mainly flat, occasionally uneven, excellent views and good birdlife along the river.
Length: 6 - 7km (3.7 - 4.4 miles)
Time: 2 - 3 hours
Cautley Spout
Cautley Spout is a spectacular waterfall on the eastern side of the Howgill Fells. It is England’s highest waterfall above ground, tumbling 200 metres in a series of cascades.

Length: 8km (5.1 miles) one way
Ascent: 390 metres
Time: 2 - 3 hours
Dent Circular from Sedbergh
A superb walk to Dent village. Crossing over low fell country with stunning views before making its way back to Sedbergh down beautiful Dentdale.
Length: 19km (11.75 miles)
Ascent: 450 metres
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Akay Wood & River Rawthey
A popular circular walk at any time of the year visiting the 'Pepperpot', Akay Wood, the ancient Akay Oak and following the banks of the Rawthey back to town.
Length: 3.7km (2.3 miles)
Time: 60 - 90 minutes
Dales Way, Luneside & Craggstones
A lovely circular walk starting along the Dales Way and visiting the rivers Rawthey and Lune before returning along the bottom edge of the fell.
Length: 11.7km (7.3 miles)
Ascent: 355 metres
Time: 3 - 4 hours
